Designed for beginners ages 7–10, this 6-week program helps kids build confidence and momentum—without relying on them to already be “motivated” or consistent at practicing.
Small group (max 6–9 students)
We’re currently filling the April 22 group
This cohort is the first step for students beginning piano at Music Lessons Arizona.
Your child is new to piano or just getting started
You’re looking for a structured, step-by-step approach
You want a positive first experience (not frustrating)
You’re not sure how to guide practice at home

This is not a drop-in activity.
It’s a guided starting phase designed to help students begin the right way.

“We were looking for a program with real structure for beginners, and Music Lessons Arizona has been exactly that.
My daughter went from being too intimidated to touch the piano to confidently playing and even performing within a few months.
The way concepts are introduced step by step has helped her build both skill and confidence without ever feeling overwhelmed.”

“The classes are structured to meet my daughter’s level, and the environment is incredibly supportive.
She’s gained a lot of confidence since starting, and it’s clear the instruction is both thoughtful and motivating.”

“We’ve had a great experience at Music Lessons Arizona.
The environment is welcoming, and it’s clear there’s a strong sense of structure and care behind the program.

During the 6-week cohort, students will begin developing:
Familiarity with the keyboard and note patterns
Simple melodies using one and two hands
Rhythm and timing through guided exercises
The ability to follow structured instructions at the piano
Early note-reading skills (intro level)
Focus and independence during class time
Early note-reading skills (intro level)
Focus and independence during class time
Each session follows a clear structure so students begin building the habits and consistency needed for long-term progress.

In the early stages, we keep things simple and manageable so students build familiarity and confidence during class.
At home, most families just do a few minutes of light review—nothing overwhelming.
This may include:
Looking over materials from class
Reviewing simple exercises or patterns
Watching short guided videos we provide
A piano or keyboard is not required right away.
Many families choose to wait a few weeks before setting one up at home, allowing them to see their child’s interest and engagement first.
As students begin progressing, we’ll guide you on when and how to set up a simple keyboard so they can continue building consistency and confidence.

At the end of the 6 weeks, we’ll guide you through the next step based on your child’s progress and readiness.
Students who continue are placed into our ongoing Piano Discovery Program, where they build on what they’ve started with more structured progression and continued support.
This cohort is designed to transition directly into our full program for students who continue.
